* Proceed with caution when using Facebook as an information resource. There are a number of "groups" available, but it can quickly become an information overwhelm, or devolve into an "egos and opinions" debate. Published literature may be the best source for consistent, relevant, proven information.
** For someone looking to start or just starting in endurance, I would first and foremost recommend searching for a mentor as the most direct source of information. AERC has a list of member who have stepped up and offered to be mentors for those getting started in the sport. If none are local to you, reach out through email -- many distance riders have a good network and may be able to connect you with someone nearby who would be willing to answer some questions and be helpful.
